PS-4400 Handheld Scanner is a innovative standalone film scanner that instantly preserves important documents, letters, or recipes, recording its contents onto a memory card for later retrieval on your computer. As you move the scanner over an area as large as 8 1/2" H x 50" L, its sensitive color image sensor scans at fine (900 dpi), high (600 dpi) or standard (300 dpi) resolution, saving images as JPG or PDF files stored on an inserted microSD card (memory card sold separately). An upgraded model of PS-4100, SVP PS-4400 has a built-in Preview color LCD display, scan up to 900 dpi, and JPG / PDF file format selection. Amazing capability for such a portable device. Only improvement would be if one side of the scanning element was closer to the edge in order to capture text nearer the seam of an open, thick book. (Flat pages are no problem, however.)

I can not believe how easy this is!!! this is a great scanner. two things that people might want to know about product If you want to make sure you scan the entire page it helps to use a peace of plexiglass over the book you are scanning.

Waiting for my microSD card to arrive. Users beware this scanner will not operate without microSD card and it is not included. I've read reviews of this scanner and they are mostly positive, so I figure my feedback here would just "ditto" everyone else's. It appears this scanner has more resolution power than the competition, so that is a plus. Also, potential buyers make sure you check package contents for enclosed "white balance sheet." Mine was missing. This "sheet" accessory is mandatory.
